Magrini reports§87100 conflict
Gov. Code §87100
The contribution was legal — but under §87100, an official who has received a contribution of $250+ from a party within 12 months before a vote involving that party must recuse. The violation is the vote without recusal, not the donation itself. Magrini reported this conflict to county officials. His termination followed.

IGA approved"at Crye's direction"
4–1 vote approved
The agreement presented "at Supervisor Crye's direction." The deal gave the county $212M+ less than what Magrini had negotiated. Judge Baker later voided it.

Redding Rancheriaanti-recall donation
$5,500
To "STOP NEWSOM: NO ON CRYE RECALL" — the committee that kept Crye in office. Crye survived the recall by 50 votes. Unlike the first donation, this one raises concerns independent of the pre-vote question: under §84308, a party to a proceeding is barred from making contributions to an officer for 12 months after a final decision. The IGA vote was July 25, 2023; this donation came January 4, 2024 — inside that window.
